Managing Within The Law
About the course
Managing Within The Law provides a foundation in key areas of employment law and a knowledge of ‘best practice’ which will guide participants on how to handle issues at workplace proactively and effectively that will reduce the risk of claims to employment tribunals. This workshop-styled training takes practical approach to many of the issues that might challenge you in your role as an Human Resource professional or a manager. Included are the selected provisions of the Employment Act 1955, The Industrial Act 1967 and case laws primarily from the Industrial Court awards.
Managing Within The Law program helps managers to act in accordance with the laws when managing top workplace issues relating to managing misconduct, performance and probationers as well as the processes of employment termination arising from these issues.
Objectives
- Apply knowledge of selected provisions of the employment laws to the management of probationers, poor performers and misconduct
- Gain insights into the essentials of an employment contract, the termination process and the impact of wrongful termination.
