Practical e-Invoice: Implementation and Compliance

Malaysia’s Inland Revenue Board (IRB) has implemented its e-Invoicing framework in phases, beginning with large taxpayers on 1 August 2024, covering B2B transactions via the MyInvois Portalor API integration, as well as the B2C e-Receipt regime. The mandate has since expanded across multiple phases based on annual turnover, with businesses above RM1 million progressively required to comply, while certain smaller taxpayers may be exempt under current guidelines.

As e-Invoicing is progressively mandated across all taxpayers in Malaysia, organisations can no longer afford to remain at the awareness stage.
The focus now is on readiness, compliance, and execution, understanding the real business impact, aligning operations, and ensuring systems are fully prepared for e-Invoice implementation.
